Garuga Development Plan

We intend to construct a prime integrated waterfront development on this land and position it as Uganda’s tourist destination of choice. Indicatively, the development will include; a harbour and harbour square, residential apartments, hotels, amenities (hospital & school) retail outlets and office blocks.  

The development will be done in phases and according to the preliminary master plan, the proposed development will have a gross floor area of about 812,000m2 once all phases are completed.

Development Type Description
Harbour & HarbourSquare
  • The proposed harbor will become a theater of wide range of marine activities that will include: boat launching and berthing, sailing school, ferries, charters boats, repairs and boat building, fishing and fish market and restaurant, dry storage of boats
  • Harbor square will consist of festival shopping centers, restaurants, Amphitheatre and a chapel among others
Residential units
  • These will be medium and high density high-end residential units of 1 to 4 bedrooms in serviced apartments.
Offices
  • The offices will be in high standard office blocks and will mainly target diplomatic missions, UN agencies and corporate organizations
Hotels
  • The proposed destination resorts will have hotel rooms and large size conference rooms
Amenities (Hospital & School)
  • This will consist of a regional hospital that will offer specialized medical care and an international boarding school
